Bio

Mark Pasetsky is a communications consultant with in-depth experience in public relations, publishing and social media.

Mark has held several high-profile media positions, including Managing Editor of OK! Magazine, General Manager and Editor-in-Chief of Life & Style Weekly, Vice President of Bauer Publishing, and Vice President of MTV Networks’ online division.

Mark also writes for Forbes.com and the Huffington Post, and is often quoted in prestigious media outlets including the Los Angeles Times, The Daily Beast and E! Online.

As Managing Editor of OK! Magazine, Mark worked directly with the Chairman of Northern & Shell, Richard Desmond.  Mark oversaw the 50-plus person editorial operation, including the NY and West Coast offices as well as all online and digital initiatives.  He worked closely with the publishing team to help build stronger relations with the advertising community, which included creating specially- themed issues and celebrity events on both coasts.  Under Mark’s direction, the magazine featured a number of celebrity columnists including Kim Kardashian, Bethenny Frankel and Giuliana Rancic.

Prior to joining OK!, Mark served as an independent communications and publishing consultant.   He also published a Web site called CoverAwards.com, where he critiqued magazine covers from around the world and interviewed key media industry players.

As Editor-in-Chief of Bauer Publishing’s Life & Style Weekly, Mark was responsible for overseeing the magazine’s day-to-day editorial operation and reported directly to Bauer CEO Hubert Boehle.  Before Mark was promoted to Editor-in-Chief, he served as the Vice President of Bauer Publishing and General Manager of Life & Style Weekly.  Mark is credited with overseeing the successful launch of Life & Style, which was the fastest growing magazine of the year and was named “Launch of the Year” by magazine guru Samir Husni. In addition, Mark was responsible for managing Bauer’s corporate and consumer communications efforts.

Previously, Mark launched communications firm Mark Allen & Company, which was instrumental in the successful public relations launch of Bauer Publishing’s In Touch Weekly, including the magazine’s one year anniversary party in NYC. Mark also piloted a program called Executive Branding, which helped CEOs and senior-level executives manage their reputations internally and externally.

From 1999 – 2001, Mark was the Vice President of MTV Networks online division and reported to MTV Networks head of communications Carole Robinson.  He headed up corporate and consumer communications for MTV.com, VH1.com, and Nick.com.

Previously, Mark counseled MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, BMG, and TheStreet.com while at PR firm Middleberg & Associates.

Mark is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he received a B.A. in Journalism.
